This outdoor living project in Leola, Pennsylvania combined new concrete work with a spacious, ground-level Trex deck. The result is a durable, low-maintenance area designed for easy access, safety, and long-term enjoyment.
Location: Leola, Pennsylvania
Located in Lancaster County, this home required a deck system built to handle Pennsylvania’s seasonal weather while providing a seamless transition from the house to the yard.
Deck Size and Layout
The finished deck measures 15′ x 30′, totaling approximately 450 square feet. The ground-level design keeps the space open and accessible while maximizing usable square footage.
Concrete Slab Preparation
Before deck construction began, we poured a 10′ x 15′ concrete slab directly against the house. This slab serves as a clean, stable transition point and connects perfectly with the new deck and step system.
Steps and Accessibility
To ensure smooth movement throughout the space, we installed:
Two steps from the deck down to the concrete slab
Two steps from the front of the deck down to grade
This layout improves safety and flow between the home, deck, and yard.
RDI Aluminum Railing and Finishing Touches
For added safety and a clean, modern appearance, RDI aluminum railing was installed, along with post sleeves at the end of the deck to give the structure a polished, finished look.
